Kentrosaurus
- Kentrosaurus means 'pointed lizard' was a dinosaur closely related to the better-known Stegosaurus.
- Kentrosaurs were African cousins of the North American Stegosaurus. However, they differed in size, in the shape of their armor plating and in their bodily flexibility. Kentrosaurus was smaller than Stegosaurus. It was just 16 feet long and had a much lower weight.
- Kentrosaurus would have been preyed upon by dinosaurs similar to Allosaurus, but it could have used its tail to ward off attacks by lashing the tail from side to side. Also, spines along its sides would have helped protect the animal from attacks.
